With Food Hopping, you hop from one food to another, never eating the same food two bites in a row.
For example, if you're at a fast-food restaurant and you use this technique, you might eat your food this way:
bite of hamburger
bite of French fry
bite of salad
bite of hamburger
bite of salad
bite of hamburger
bite of French fry
etc.
The easier way to do this is to place your food in a circle and just go round and round as you eat. A more mindful approach is to be aware with each bite that you're making a decision to eat a food different from the previous bite.
Let Food Hopping also remind you to completely chew up and swallow one bite before you reach for another (make each bite a BMB).
Food Hopping is simple, and can be used with any kind of meal. If you decide to eat a snack, get two different kinds of food so you can hop from one to the other.
